One cannot explain the randomness that is a 90s GM product.

In the meantime while I patiently wait for it to probably grenade itself, I'll be looking at G6s and a few other 2000s GM products.

Brakes started locking up again after I had to panic stop (thanks, random band mom)

I swear to god I heard the engine misfire once or twice. It skipped a beat for sure.

AHHHHHH! You guys have terrible taste! I know we're not supposed to outright rip each other's taste in cars anymore these days and all this other touch feely hippy kum bay yah bullshit, but I hate those things. How much do they go for? I'm sure you can do better.

Just looked it up and the cheapest one I can find in the country on cars.com is 8k and every one of them is an automatic. Wouldn't you rather have this ? Or this ?

Not sure if its in your price range, but take advantage of the GM scare and pick yourself up a G8. Don't consign yourself to the G6, you might as well just get an Impala or Cobalt (SS?) at that point.

...or don't go with a GM product. That's the another option.

I have reason to argue that I don't have terrible taste, and that is a matter of your opinion and yours alone. Just because you don't like what I like doesn't mean that my taste is terrible. And I haven't a clue what his budget is like either. Also, I'm pretty sure a GTO is way the hell out of the option, initial buy and insurance wise. Also, you missed the part where he's looking for a manual.

Also, this is ONE car! You're judging my taste on one car, that really doesn't say much about my taste at all; I'm simply agreeing that if he wants a G6, he should get a GTP, and there's nothing wrong with that.

This has nothing to do with "touch feely hippy kum bay yah bullshit".

One, I was judging both of you and two, this is just my opinion and it shouldn't be worth a hill of beans to you. At the end of the day if you love a car and you want it all the naysayers in the world should never be able to talk you out of it.

I'm just saying I did a quick cars.com search of the whole country and did not find a single manual G6 GXP. They were all automatics and the cheapest one was 8k. That pushrod 3.9 V6 was nothing to write home about either. The main point I was bringing up was even staying in the same brand he could get a Grand Prix or a GTO for the same price both with V8s and the GTO would give him RWD MT. Again, I am more than happy for anyone to spend their money on what makes them happy. I am just talking the same way I do to my friends when they tell me they want to buy something I don't like. I might give a bit of a hard time but at the end of the day it's their money.

Whoa man, I am chill and I was just kidding. It's so hard to play around with people online in a way that doesn't come off as trollish. You're right, it is your money and if you want one get it. Like I said if you want a certain car my opinion shouldn't matter. I also never think about insurance anymore because it's been a bit since it's been a big issue for me.

I do share a similar sentiment towards friends and their car ideals though. I have a friend that's hellbent on getting a '00-03 Grand Am as her first car for the most arbitrary and dumbest reasons, other than the fact that she likes the way they look. Because she has no idea how to actually look for cars, I've been helping her do so; but I've been trying to tell her that there are much better cars than a Grand Am, especially from that period. But she won't listen because she wants a Grand Am, it frustrates me to hell and I think she's being stupid, but at the end of the day, it is her money like you say.

Yeah it is a fine line on the internet between trollish/dickish and playful ribbing with friends. I avoid it most of the time but it's late and I'm dumb at night. I do like the way some G6s look but I've had a few friends who owned some and had a bunch of problems. Also the fact that these are the offspring of the Grand Am kind of keep me away.

I have a buddy who is hell bent on a G35 or a WRX and I give him shit all the time even though I think they're totally worthwhile cars, they just don't tick the right boxes for me. The good thing though is I keep him up to date on his alternatives and since I am always searching for comparable G35s and WRXs I tip him off to some potential deals as well. He has been taking over a year to make up his mind though.

It is night time, so I agree with you there. My brain lvls either stay up or go down as the night progresses. I almost wanted a G6 manual coupe after I sold the Astra(I new shit about cars at the time and only cared about engine size and looks); thanks to internet forums, I learned how poor they were quality they were, and that they were actually a downgrade from my Astra in every way, save for power though.

The funny thing is, as hellbent as my friend is on getting a Grand Am, the only alternative she'll accept is a G6 because it is the "newer" Grand Am and an improvement of it's predecessor.

I knew a guy who had a coupe GTP one of these! it was an automatic, but DAMN that supercharged 3800 in those made them HAUL.

I always liked these! I think blue would suit one well
